One of the best experiences of Spring Into Art Open Studio a few days ago was sending “9 White Flowers” into the care of a loyal friend and collector. Each of the nine collaged paintings features a drawing of one of the white medicine flowers that I combined into a flower essence vibrational remedy. I always intended to keep them together as a series. They served two purposes; to have a graphic I could design a label for the dropper bottle and to be displayed at the first “Four Seasons ~ Four Directions” traveling solo exhibit.
The first exhibit was presented by Lena Feiner at the Women’s Institute and Gallery in New Harmony, Indiana. She was a great support for women artists and so gracious to work with. The three rooms of her Gallery and library were filled with sixty eight works of art including paintings, artist books, instruments and artifacts. These works were displayed on the corresponding wall of the direction. “9 White Flowers” was hung on a south wall.
Lena moved from Chicago to New Harmony to fulfill her lifelong dream of creating a gallery to display women’s art and library that had books by women authors. It opened in 2000. She held a regular discussion group in the Institute Library. She also had a small gift shop area. Sadly she passed away in 2020. We miss her positive presence and vibrant influence.
A Flower Essence is a vibrational remedy, the spiritual essence of a plant that can come into form via the combination of consciousness, water and sun for the purpose of healing the subtle bodies, to promote fulfillment, well being and evolution.
The nature spirit presence in plants and flowers offers us support for our evolutionary growth, healing of our subtle bodies and our earth. By establishing a friendship with plants and flowers we deepen our learning about their gift to us and how we can promote their well being in return.
Interesting information, Kathleen. Thank you! Hugs!
