“Just want you to see what a lovely part of my life you are.”

This is the kind of message I savor, and live for, frankly. It highlights the reciprocal nature of art—how as a painter I imbue my work with intention, prayers, and meaning, and how the collector, in turn, experiences and values that energy. This exchange completes the artistic process, making it a shared connection rather than a one-sided creation. Living with art. The art of living. The necessary, imperative nature of art.

It is all the more rewarding to for my art to be a piece of the reconstruction of a home that was destroyed by fire. These three paintings of hummingbird couples are from a series “Hummingbird Sanctuary”. I love how her bird sculpture watches out for them. My friend has indeed rebuilt a sanctuary for herself and family.
