It’s Equinox time, day = night, a shift from the red of summer to the black of autumn. But it’s not just red. It’s irreplaceable coral scraps from an envelope Collis, who always sent me things she uncovered in her stacks. All colors in this range are weighed against this coral: a beloved painting on arches cover with spots of green, vermilion watercolor pencil marks on Spanish Capellades Abaca, a strip of a paint chip from 2002, the magenta/scarlet striped Japanese paper, copper leaf adds sparkle. The India ink strips are from “Atlas of the Year 9”.
