The Light of Equinox

The Light of Equinox

The Light of Equinox

The diminishing light of Equinox informs me to shift into a higher gear. The seemingly endless light and heat of the summer slows me down, it seems lie there is so much time. Everything is growing on it’s own, then the lessening light makes everything ripen to the point of instant (more…)

An Eve of Peace

An Eve of Peace

An Eve of Peace

Lately my family has been involved with funeral preparations for my mom. We did not know how long the wait would be for her internment at Arlington National Cemetery, where she will be joined with my father and paternal grandparents. They rightfully prioritize the active duty personnel. It is a great comfort to be a part of the ceremony that the Honor Guard bestows to their veterans. So we are fortunate that we received a September 6 date.  (more…)

Blank

Blank

Blank

Ever since my mother’s death I’ve been blank. That’s OK, it’s like being on vacation, vacating the normal track of ambition. It’s not like nothing’s happening, it’s just all quiet and deep. Realizations arise at odd moments, (more…)

Sad Solstice Season

Sad Solstice Season

Sad Solstice Season

On the deck of our earth ship, the shade curtains bulge towards me like sails allowing a purifying barely moist seventy four degree breeze. It’s been like this (perfect comforting atmosphere) since returning home from my mom’s passing on the Summer Solstice. Grateful, I allow these airs and graces to soothe the emptiness that cannot be filled. Everything changed with her departure. Nothing changed with her departure. All the cycles flow according to right time and place. (more…)

Mothers Day Garden

Mothers Day Garden

Yesterday we caught up on garden tasks, after an abundance of rain. I wanted to appreciate my Mothers Day garden without toil. Since we started planting the biodynamic seeds from Turtle Tree Seed, and husbands’ kindly addition of extreme deep beds to avoid bending, we are amazed at the nurturing our Mother Earth is capable of. I am so grateful to Her and my children who asked to see what we are seeing at this glorious May morn. So, here’s a little tour of Sunwise Farm and Sanctuary kitchen gardens. (more…)

Art Lovers Spring into Art

Art Lovers Spring into Art

Spring Into Art exceeded all expectations. I’m still floating with good feelings remembering some of the highlights of art lovers flocking to the event. It is a major joy to witness 34 artworks leaving with happy collectors. I wish I had taken a picture of the free art table before the event started. That was the secondary surprise, you sort of had to be there! (more…)
