KENTUCKY ARTIST TO RELEASE SMALL ART INSPIRED BY SEASONAL BIRDS & FLORA Kentucky artist Kathleen O’Brien will release a series of 36 small paintings on paper in sizes 9×12” and smaller, each inspired by the seasonal arrivals of birds and flora in her gardens at Sunwise Farm and Sanctuary. Each artwork reflects on spring and summer, not only as seasonal harbingers of the year, but also as a state of being or time in life often connected with reemergence of powers like rebirth, vitality, illumination, growth, trust, love and creativity. “Birds and Flora; Seasonal Garden Visitors” celebrates the joy of the light half of the year, visual reminders to carry us through the dark half of the year. “Painting and collaging the birds and botanicals as they were first noticed, was a perfect spring and summer activity for Atlas of the Year, my online program which explores seasonal cycles. Observing and recording these surprises by being in the right place at the right time gave purpose to each day.” Kathleen O’Brien is beginning her 52nd year as a fine artist. She lives with her husband and two Corgis on a small farm in the Bluegrass of Kentucky in a home designed by her, built by her husband and son. She has two children and two grandchildren. “Birds and Flora; Seasonal Garden Visitors” will be released Friday, November 29, 2019 via the artist website https://kathleen-obrien.com/ and Instagram @kathleenobrienstudio. Last day of the event is December 14. For additional information, contact Kathleen O’Brien at https://kathleen-obrien.com/contact/ subject line “small art”.
