Letter to God, pages 1-6
This series began with a simple desire to use most of my colors, then cover with off white to investigate the effects of the optic tones it would produce.
I learned about the transparent nature of acrylic. As the layers continued, I realized I had already achieved the desired outcome with “Love Letters to Henry Miller” in 2010. It was right in front of my eyes. It is about this artist’s search for expressing meaning.
So, this new series then layered intention, it was more love letters. I added lines and script to represent thoughts written on school paper. Awareness of and deep sadness because of increased violence, at home and abroad, that reached a crescendo with the anniversary of 9.11, it evolved into “Letter to God pages 1-6”, a prayer for sanity and peace. The centered circle in each symbolizes God descending over the chaos represented by the disparate shapes and form.
All I can do is paint my best with intentions for peace and share that, it continues as my mission, since the beginning.
Below are the other 5 pages completed. They will be shown for the first time at the 17th Annual Autumn Open Studio, November 1. Here are links to posts that describe versions of Love Letters from 2010 and 2020.

So beautiful and peaceful. Wish I could see them in person. And i so agree with the desire for peace in the world.
Have you read The Fourth Turning, by Howe. Peace will come eventually. In the meantime, so important to express peace by who you are and your ar.t
I also wish you could visit, you know you are welcome! No, I have not read it, but I’ll add it to the list. Art keeps me centered and at peace, and I hope that transfers into the world
Thank you for the inspiring post!
